You will be transported by comfortable bus to the fishing village of Bayahibe, the departure port for Saona Island. Depending on the day's schedule, your crossing will begin on either a speedy boat or a relaxing catamaran. Most tours use the thrilling speedboat for the journey out, followed by a stop at the Natural Pool—a huge sandbank where the water is waist-deep and crystal clear. Here, you'll have about 30 to 45 minutes to enjoy a swim and take photos.

Next, the boat continues to Saona Island in Cotubanamá National Park. Once on the island, you'll have ample time (around 3 hours) to explore the gorgeous beaches, play volleyball, swim in the calm turquoise waters, or simply relax under the palm trees.
