Los Haitises National Park is famous for its limestone karst formations, dense mangrove forests, coastal wetlands, and archaeological heritage. The park is home to hundreds of bird species and plays a vital role in the region’s ecosystem.

Tour Description

Your adventure begins at Sabana de la Mar Port, where our private transportation team will welcome you and coordinate your transfer to the departure point, depending on daily sea and weather conditions.

Scenic Ferry Crossing – 1 hour 30 minutes

Enjoy a comfortable ferry ride across Samaná Bay with panoramic views of mangrove coastlines, small islands, open waters, and dramatic karst formations. This crossing offers excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife observation.

Kayaking Through the Mangroves

Once inside Los Haitises National Park, you will paddle through calm mangrove waterways accompanied by a certified naturalist guide. During this activity, you will learn about the mangrove ecosystem and spot wildlife such as herons, pelicans, frigate birds, and occasionally manatees.

Guided Rainforest Hike & Cave Exploration

Continue with an easy-level guided hike through the tropical rainforest. The trail leads to caves decorated with pre-Columbian Taíno pictographs, where your guide will explain the cultural history of the indigenous people and the importance of the park’s flora and fauna, including medicinal plants and native species.

Traditional Dominican Lunch (Included)

A Dominican-style lunch is included and served at one of the following locations, depending on sea and weather conditions:

Cueva de Arena Beach, located inside the national park

Return to Sabana de la Mar

After lunch, you will return by boat to the port area and board the ferry back to Sabana de la Mar Port, followed by private transportation to the drop-off point.
