I recently went on this tour and had a blast! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided some very interesting facts about the area. I'd book again.

? Full Description
Your boat tour begins at the main port of Los Haitises (Caño Hondo), where you board with life jackets and a local guide. As you glide through the mangrove forests, the trees bend overhead, roots entangle in the water, and the stillness of the environment envelopes you. After exiting the mangroves you arrive at San Lorenzo Bay, a wide sheltered inlet bordered by steep limestone mogotes teeming with plant life and birdlife.
Next, you explore ancient caves carved into the rock—Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Línea. These caverns hold pictographs and petroglyphs created by the Taíno people (and possibly earlier inhabitants) around 750 years ago. The guide explains the significance of the rock art and the park’s history: “Haitises” in the Taíno language means “highlands” or “hills,” a nod to the dramatic topography.
Throughout the journey you stay alert for wildlife: in the mangroves you may spot crustaceans, as you approach open waters you might glimpse manatees or dolphins. After your cave visit you return by boat to the port where you began. The eco-landscape of mangrove, karst, forest and sea makes this more than a simple cruise—it’s a nature-and-heritage immersion.
