The long but rewarding day begins with a very early morning pickup from your Bayahibe hotel. You will be transferred by air-conditioned bus to the necessary boat departure point (often in the Cañitas or Sabana de la Mar area) to begin the maritime portion of the trip. Upon arrival at the port, you will board a sturdy motorboat or catamaran and head out into the vast, warm waters of Samaná Bay.

This bay is the primary winter breeding and calving ground for thousands of Humpback Whales migrating from the North Atlantic. Your boat will follow strict sanctuary rules to safely and responsibly approach the whales, allowing you to observe these incredible displays of nature. After the thrilling whale-watching session, the journey continues to the tranquil haven of Cayo Levantado Island. Here, you will disembark to enjoy approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of beach relaxation.
