Begin with a scenic 30-minute bike ride through Sabana de la Mar, stopping at viewpoints that look over the dramatic limestone hills known as mogotes. You’ll pass by local farms or coconut groves, offering great photo opportunities. Then switch to a boat for a 2.5-hour journey: glide through natural tunnels of red and white mangroves, keep an eye out for wildlife like herons, pelicans, and if you’re lucky — manatees. You’ll explore caves with ancient Taíno pictographs such as Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Línea, home to bats and geological formations. Finally, you’ll sail past iconic limestone mogotes and bird-populated islets known as Bird Island, before returning to the dock for a refreshing break with fresh coconut water or local fruit.
