This 3-hour evening excursion begins around sunset as you join a local conservationist on a remote, protected beach near Tamarindo. After a short briefing, you’ll walk quietly along the shoreline to search for sea turtles arriving from the ocean. Your guide will explain how they choose their nesting spots, dig their nests, lay eggs, and cover them carefully to protect them from predators.
Instead of bright lights, the guide uses a soft red light to avoid disturbing the turtles and ensure ethical wildlife viewing. Depending on the night, you may also be lucky enough to witness small hatchlings emerging from the sand and making their first journey toward the water.
